Dear Diary,

Wow, it’s been 2 years since my last post.  I really know how to leave things hanging…  Reminds me of these 2 fan-fiction stories I wrote back in college.  I’m still getting emails telling me to finish them.  I pretend that I have no time, but completing a story is not that easy and words don’t magically flow to express how you want a story to go.  Anyway, back to what I was saying.

Yes, it’s been 2 years.  I wonder if anyone out there is even still going to read this.  I’ve lost contact with the people I used to talk to here in wordpress.  I’m sure they are probably still writing and have filled their blogs with 2 years worth of posts.

What have I been up to?  Last I posted was that I was in Indonesia.  After that project I flew back home.   Trained new people who joined the company.  Went back to Thailand for a few more projects.  Off to Cambodia to do some training.  Then to India to train some more.  I truly love being a trainer.  Nothing like imparting knowledge to your audience.

Now my latest project is in China.  And I will post some pics of my travels soon.  I have too many things to show you.  Granted, I am not the best traveler as I always head for the tourist traps, but hey they make for great pictures.

So far, I think the best thing I’ve seen for 2018 is being able to see the Pandas in Guangzhou, China.  Seriously, the zoo was really big but I spent most hours in Panda village. Just staring and watching them eat.  Kind of stalker-ish if it weren’t a really cute black and white panda bear.

Love lots,

Dear Diary,

What does Philippines and Thailand (or a lot of other countries) have in common?   They have a lot of  Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants.  In fact there’s one near our work place.  So one day after lunch.  My Thai co-worker and I, decided to have some fun with our cups.

Do you like winter, or not, and why?

I’ve never experienced winter yet.  We stayed at Minneapolis at the start of Fall and coming from a tropical country, I was already having a hard time with the cold then… I don’t think I can survive the cold of winter.  Although, I’d like to experience it someday.

Are you a listener or talker?

I’m both, depending on my mood.  I used to work in a call center so there was a time in my life when I just liked to keep silent after working long hours talking non-stop.

What is your favorite juice or fruit drink?

I used to love drinking Hi-C orange juice when I was young and went to school abroad.  We don’t have those vending machines here so I just drink the local orange juice here.

What do you have to be so happy about?

I have God.  I have my husband.  I have my family.  I have my friends.  Nuff said…

Share Your World – 2013 Week 19

On a vacation what you would require in any place that you would stay? Question came from Wanderings of an Elusive Mind

I would require my husband to be there…

If you were or are a writer do you prefer writing short stories, poems or novels?

I want to write a novel, but I haven’t got the patience to complete one. So I’m mostly just on short story mode for now, until I’m ready.

What’s your favorite song of the moment?

Because I want to learn how to play it on the piano…

If you were to buy a new house/apartment what is the top items on your wish list?

Fully furnished

3 bedrooms

2 bathrooms

Safe neighborhood

Front yard & Back yard

Share Your World – 2013 Week 17

Our internet has been down for days, which is the main reason for my lack of posts and also the reason why I’m combining the two weeks here. 🙂  I felt bad missing week 16 and I then I realized I didn’t have to miss it. hehe

Are you awake before dawn?  Or are you awake before noon?

I stay up late.  So often times I find myself still awake at dawn.  And most of the time I’m awake before noon. 🙂

Are you usually late, early, or right on time?

I am usually early.  I get anxious at even thinking I’m going to be late.  I wake up from nightmares of me arriving late at meetings, work and school…  I just don’t like the feeling arriving later than what was discussed.

For your potato chips do you prefer ridged or flat ones?

I think I prefer the flat ones.  I think the ridged ones are too salty.

If you could inherit a vacation home anywhere in the world in which you could spend two months a year, where would it be?

Oh gosh, this is a hard one.  I would choose Maldives.  I’ve never been there, but the pictures make me want to spend two months a year there. 🙂

When writing by hand do you prefer to use a pencil or pen?

I often write with pencils during college note-taking days.  I also notice that I have more entries written with pencil on my journals and diaries.

Would you rather be given $10,000 for your own use or $100,000 to give anonymously to strangers?

I’m gonna have to be honest here.  I’d rather be given that $10,000.  What if those strangers were to just use it to buy drugs or something?  I have relatives that I prefer to give it to first than to total strangers.

Would you rather take pictures or be in pictures?

I would rather take pictures.  I’m really picky about pictures of myself that get posted online…

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a princess.  Then I found out my mother and father had to have royal blood, so that dream went out the window…

Share Your World – 2013 Week 14 & 15

If a movie was made based on your life, what actor/actress would play you?

I don’t really think people would watch a movie about my boring life… I’ve never had any paranormal activities.  I’ve never been taken.  And all those other things that seem to be plots for interesting movies…  But my life could pass for a TV Comedy Sitcom.  So I choose Courtney Cox to play me.  🙂

Show us a couple of your favorites photographs?   If you are not a photographer, think of a favorite scene in your life and tell us about them.

My favorite photos are candid pictures of my husband.  I’m always holding the camera so I snap pictures of him when he’s not looking…  Of course he tells me not to post them on Facebook, but he never said anything about posting them on my blog. 🙂

What do you like most about home?

It’s our first home.  We chose it together.  We paid for it together.  We decorated it together.  I like that it’s ours.  But if we’re talking about the physical aspect, then I love our bed…

it’s not always this neat… hehe and the shelves are now filled with books and other things…

What is one of your quirky traits?

I am obsessed with keeping my hands clean.  I always have hand sanitizer in my bag.  I do not like the sticky feeling of food when I prepare it and most often keep washing my hands while I’m cooking.  I don’t like touching dirty stuff.  (Hubby takes  care of the garbage…)  I have nightmares of public restrooms that are dirty.

What has surprised you about blogging?

I used to have an old blog I’ve kept for years.  No one reads it (except for occasional friends or relatives who stumble on it).  It’s just me ranting about stuff.  Then I started this one.  And I got my first like.  And then another.  And now, I still can’t believe strangers are reading my posts… 🙂  Plus, I now have cyberspace friends. 🙂

Which do you prefer sweet or salty?  Or both at the same time?

Sweet is my answer.  I can live without salty.  In fact, I don’t like salty.  I cringe when it get’s too salty.  So I usually buy the lite versions of chips.  Sweet and salty like kettle corn is acceptable.  As long as sweet is the dominant ingredient… I know I should lay off it, but I’ve thrown out my dream of becoming a supermodel since I was 9… hehe

lotsa love…  Don’t forget to read what other people answered! 🙂

What one word describes you best?

A couple of years back, I took a personality test from an app I downloaded for my ipod.  I found out later that the test was called the Enneagram Test.  I found out that my personality matches that of a Helper.  I read the information about that personality and I felt that it completely matches mine.

— ok so I know I’m supposed to just describe myself with that one word but still wanted to post the information about this personality below.

Helpers are warm, concerned, nurturing, and sensitive to other people’s needs.

How to Get Along with Me

  • Tell me that you appreciate me. Be specific.
  • Share fun times with me.
  • Take an interest in my problems, though I will probably try to focus on yours.
  • Let me know that I am important and special to you.
  • Be gentle if you decide to criticize me.

In Intimate Relationships

  • Reassure me that I am intersting to you.
  • Reassure me often that you love me.
  • Tell me I’m attractive and that you’re glad to be seen with me.

What I Like About Being a Two

  • being able to relate easily to people and to make friends
  • knowing what people need and being able to make their lives better
  • being generous, caring, and warm
  • being sensitive to and perceptive about others’ feelings
  • being enthusiastic and fun-loving, and having a good sense of humor

What’s Hard About Being a Two

  • not being able to say no
  • having low self-esteem
  • feeling drained from overdoing for others
  • not doing things I really like to do for myself for fear of being selfish
  • criticizing myself for not feeling as loving as I think I should
  • being upset that others don’t tune in to me as much as I tume in to them
  • working so hard to be tactful and considerate that I suppress my real feelings

Twos as Children Often

  • are very sensitive to disapproval and criticism
  • try hard to please their parents by being helpful and understanding
  • are outwardly compliant
  • are popular or try to be popular with other children
  • act coy, precocious, or dramatic in order to get attention
  • are clowns and jokers (the more extroverted Twos), or quiet and shy (the more introverted Twos)

Twos as Parents

  • are good listeners, love their children unconditionally, and are warm and encouraging (or suffer guilt if they aren’t)
  • are often playful with their children
  • wonder: “Am I doing it right?” “Am I giving enough?” “Have I caused irreparable damage?”
  • can become fiercely protective

If you were to treat yourself to the “finer things” what would you treat yourself to?

I’d check in to a 5 star beach front hotel with hubby. 🙂

Is there a language you would like to learn?

I would like to learn how to speak French and Mandarin.  I’d also like to learn all the dialects that we have here in the Philippines.

Your favorite blog post that you have written? (feel free to add link)

I don’t have a favorite yet, but people seem to like “An Indie Wedding” as it has the most views of all time…

When anniversary’s of unhappy times pop up, how do you handle them and what makes you turn your mood (attitude) around?

I don’t know what it is about me, but my unhappy times don’t have anniversaries…  I know I’ve had unhappy moments in my life like my grandmothers’ deaths and my close uncle’s death.  I was sad and I cried a lot when it happened, but I’ve learned to move on.  So I look back and I miss them, but it never affects my mood…  Maybe it’s because I have a phlegmatic personality.  I just go with the flow.  One of my trainers in a previous company, mentioned that I had a high EQ…  I don’t know how he even measured that, cause I sure didn’t take any tests…

Are you a cat, dog, goat or prefer the zoo person?

I am scared of dogs.  I am wary of cats.  I don’t even see enough goats to know how I feel about them.  The only parts of the zoo I appreciate are the ones with marine life.

How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

I usually feel like I’m just 27…  It’s the first thing I say when people ask my age.  Then I realize that I’m already 29, so I have to correct myself and look like an idiot who can’t even remember her age…

Are you left or right handed?

Right handed.  Which is the reason I tell my hubby why I’m always right.  Then he says he’s right handed too so he should also be right.  I tell him his right handedness is the wrong kind.  That’s how I argue.  Deal with it… hehehe

If you could go back and talk to yourself at age 18 what advice would you give yourself? Or if you are younger than 25 what words of wisdom would you like to tell yourself at age 40?

Dear 18-year-old Me,

Study for your exams! That 1.76 grade point average you get when you graduate, it’s 0.01 more than what you need to be Cum Laude… Oh and don’t be so ashamed of not having a boyfriend yet or not knowing what it feels like to be kissed. You’ll get your first kiss from your future husband. 🙂

Love Lots,

Ok… Technically, I was 27 in this picture… hehe

What is your favorite TV show that is currently on TV?

The Following. I’m fascinated with serial killer stories. We don’t have cable, so we can only get local channels, I was so happy to find something good on local TV.

Jello or Pudding? And what is your favorite flavor?

Hands down, Chocolate Pudding wins for me. It’s hard to find pudding in supermarkets here in the Philippines, plus they’re kinda expensive. But when I do get my hands on them (like last week), it’s never enough! 😦

What is your favorite flower?

I don’t really know my flowers except for the common ones, so I’ll stick with the Ecuadorian roses that were used for my wedding bouquet. 🙂
